If we wired up ten of these lights together can they be operated on one switch with out having to touch them?

These would not be so suitable for that application because of the touch switch. You would need a light with a manual on/off switch that you could leave in the on position and then control all with a master switch. We have lots of other great LED reading lights with manual on/off switches.
